About Michael
At the age of seventeen (currently 20) Michael Miller is well ahead of most of the competition. With a lifelong niche for music and a keen sense of his goals he’s broadened his clientele and manages his own production company M-productions, which is based out of his hometown of Cicero, Indiana. “I pick up on stuff really easily, so I’m not worried about learning things with music, I would rather learn this stuff now, than have to go back”. He commented during a conversation. Never having formal piano lessons, he’s managed to find his way around the keyboard gaining more and more knowledge that explodes into a mixture of melodies and sounds.
Growing up, his main influence and idol being well known artist Pharrell Williams of NERD, who he has managed to meet on various occasions. “Pharrell is just a really cool guy; he keeps the letter I wrote him on his tour bus, I still can’t believe I’ve been able to meet him like I have”. Through months of time and effort Michael has come to find a sound that is truly his own, consisting of smooth R&B melodies and addicting Rap style bass lines. His thought process is truly something to be seen, gathering various aspects and combining them into a piece of music that challenges most music heard on radios and albums today. M-productions is quickly gaining momentum by popular sites such as MySpace, Facebook, and You-Tube, which Michael now posts videos and updates.
With the start of a new year M-Productions continues to branch out, now providing music production lessons in a one on one atmosphere. The course covers various aspects of music production depending on the students desires and needs. Michael seems anxious for others to see what he is capable of, and wants to share his passion for music with others. Always striving for a new way or idea to get his music and ideas heard. “I just really want to work with different artists and get my name out there”
Working with soulful artist Ameera Perkins and Rap’s rising star Patrick Hardy nicknamed “P. Hardy” Michael Miller is working towards bringing back more inspiring music onto radio stations. Music, which requires raw effort being applied to the production process as a whole. Miller and Hardy have a strong connection with their ideas towards music, often coming up with new ideas seamlessly with little effort. “We just work well together, he’s a rising star”.
After being in the M-Productions studio it’s hard to describe it. Its like you walk in and he’s sitting at his keyboard, already in the midst of an idea and playing out chords and notes, with a huge grin on his face. He gets up and plays a game of “Call of Duty” on his Play Station 3, gets promoted to one of the highest ranks while playing, while simultaneously checking his productions page on MySpace and Facebook. He heads upstairs to cook eggs and waffles, the eggs tasting better than my own mothers. Than he heads back to the keyboards and creates this melody that’s one of the greatest things you ever heard. That’s how complex of a thinker he is, and it completely blew me away to watch. His mind is always one step ahead.
The music industry is in need of a breath of fresh air, but are they prepared for what he has to offer? M-Productions is ready to jump in and fill the void in todays music. When asking Michael why he wanted to become a producer and he replied “Ya know those people that get out of nice cars, dressed very classy and casual and you just know that they are doing something big? I want to be one of those people”. With a list of goals he would like to complete by the end of the year, he seems set to complete each and every one of them.
“I just want people to look up to me like I looked up to artist growing up. It’s like when you hear a song on the radio, it’s really complex and you just get really into it, that’s how I want my music to be for the people that listen to it. I want it to be my song they are listening to”.
